Vacation's Over...

Everyone is back in school; Joel's a junior, Katie's a freshman, and Miss Jenny has started fourth grade. Unbelievable.

So it's back to lonely days at home in the studio--not such a bad thing, really, it's just a matter of getting back in the groove, I suppose. One of our cats is named Lady Jane Grey (who actually turned out to be a boy--when Jen was in kindergarten she wrote in her journal: "my cat is a he but we call him a she"). Well, poor Janie hurt her (his) leg somehow, so she's been living in the studio.

Have I ever mentioned that I'm horribly allergic to cats?

So coming out here to the studio requires large doses of Benadryl...which doesn't necessarily make for an alert artist.

It is sort of nice having company out here, though!

Now, off to paint.

Sorry about the allergy Karen, we have a female cat named Boromir. She was a surprise too!

You were gone a long time...you missed my give away...I missed seeing your art. So glad the kids are back at school and you are managing with cat he/she keeping you company...and art is pouring forth once more.

Oh my, a gender confused cat. Well, no, I guess it's just the humans who are confused. I'm sure he knows he's a he. I hope you can stop sneezing. I find Ricola drops help me a lot when I am reacting allergically to cats or pollen or whatever. They calm down my histamines and I stop sneezing and itching.

So, what does alertness have to do with art, anyway? Hope Janie's leg improves and she/he moves back out to the big world of catdom. In the meantime, maybe you should dose up her/him with some meds (not yourself : ) and move her/him to a new location. How about the barn? Can't wait to see what direction you go now that you've germinated for the summer ...
