From Yesterday


This one's not finished, but I worked on this face yesterday--hung her by the kitchen table last night--I just love her face. There is something uplifting and good about her countenance...

Maybe it is the asymmetry and the chin - the combination gives a softness to the face somehow - more...human?

Wow! Karen, she's gorgeous. I love the colors you're using lately, too.

She reminds me of the photos you see of young women of my grandma's era. Something so real about them. They don't have that slick, "perfect" gloss that a lot of modern women pursue.

There's a lot of depth to her expression and a quiet emotion ...
