Birthdays and New Paintings...

Today Jenny turns nine.

Last night I signed Joel up for his driver's ed course.

Katie will be in high school next year.

How does it all go so quickly?

The days my babies were born are three of the best days of my life--does that sound weird? Hard days, yes, but days when I did something amazing and met three of my favorite people in the entire world. And now, those three people are growing up--where did all the time go?

And then, to top it off, this painting reminds me of my sister as a child. The original sketch reminded me of her, and at every step of the process I've thought, "This is Krissi."

Sigh.

Not weird at all...I have always thought that my babies birthings were my greatest creations ever!
Happy Birthday all around! And what a pretty sister you must have, the collage is just lovely.

my babies are now 37 and 32 and they still feel like my babies.motherhood is a very surreal situation to be in!

Wow, I really like your painting style!

I totally know what you mean about the kids growing up too fast. My daughter just turned 3 and I'm having trouble figuring out where the time went. She's so much fun right now but I do miss those early baby days.

And it's better to just stay in denial about stuff like school and drivers licenses.

Really love your work. I so want to channel you when I paint, but I get something all together different. Have to let it come I suppose. Best wishes with holiday sales.

I haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

It does go so quickly. I'm in the process of making holiday gifts but I'm under a big time pressure but I keep trying to picture each individual recipient as I sew, so that it's not so much a mass production. What a lucky sister.
Best wishes
