Playing with Photoshop

I've long been a believer that we learn best by playing--look how easily babies learn to walk and talk! I've been playing with Photoshop for the last year or so--reading, asking questions to my VERY PATIENT BEST FRIEND KELLY JO, and playing.

Today I haven't felt good--my ear aches (I'm going to the doctor tomorrow) and I feel yukky--but I escaped to the studio and played with some photos. This is the only piece that seems finished, so I thought I'd share both the original photograph (Katie and her friend at Halloween) and the tweaked version. Posting on my blog is the grown-up equivalent of sticking something to the refrigerator--looky here!

Beautiful!

What a fantastic take on that photo of Katie! It brings out all of her drama and beauty. What did she think of it?

Maybe you should actually put up your work on the walls, refrigerator, doors ... art shows ... in addition to the blog.

You have become a wonderful artist!

Yes, what did she think of this rendition of her portrait? I love it. Her porcelain skin and dark hair look so good with ruby or wine red.

Beautiful daughter, beautiful artwork.

I am really struggling to get to grips with even the most basic elements of photoshop, was thinking of taking a class, but you have inspired me to 'just' play. Thanks. E

P.S. I love the blog-refrigerator analogy :-)

HEY--OT--but where can I get some SX-70 Polaroid Land Camera film? You are so inspirational, I want to crank up my altered photos again! Can you email me?

Hope you got some good drugs at the doc's office>>> eareches make you feel bad ALL OVER. :( Be well.

Gorgeous daughter model for experimenting w/ photo shop or any of your art!
Oh, feel better soon. (I recently had an inner ear thing. Yukky, but meds cleared up the misery quickly.)
