So we had to get up early, as its a fifty minute drive to the Endodontist's office. Everyone here at the office has been so extra nice and helpful, but I've found myself sitting here pondering insurance and health benefits in a country as affluent as ours--amazed that, without insurance, if someone didn't have $2000 to pay for a root canal, the tooth would just have to be pulled. Somehow that just doesn't sit well with me...
I'm sketching while I wait, jackrabbits and girls and butterfly wings and feathers...
Also doodled a zentangle pattern for a braid, and then realized as I softened the sketch up that it also could be a stalk of asparagus--I'm feeling as though that's some bigger cosmic message for me--
That everything is a pattern? That rigid patterns are improved by blurring the edges a little? That things are not always what they appear? That things do not always turn out the way I intend?
Lots to think on....

I'm with you on the health insurance thing having had an ER visit with a child this week... something's not right. But I love how you used your time, and pondering that came from your doodling...
nice sketches, hectic life!
Karen, wonderful sketches. Good luck on having daughter give a speech tonight. I know you are very proud of her. She sounds like a very active and talented girl. I have had several root canals. The last few have been a breeze (except for the cost!)
A wonderful way to pass the time. Your sketches are great. Congrats to your talented daughter, hope tonight goes well for her.
Lovely sketches, love the braid that turned into asparagus - were you hungry? Valerie
smashing sketches. Happy PPF, Annette x

Very thoughtful post and your doodling is excellent. I also love the asparagus braid. I think there are patterns everywhere but we can't necessarily see the bigger picture. I think God is in the Details, so when we capture those patterns we're getting a little spiritual boost.
Sweet sketches.
I especially like your rabbits! :)

Happy PPF!!

Love your sketches!
congrats and best wishes to your daughter! Your sketches are beautiful and yes, I see asparagus spears in your future :)
Great sketches. I hope they gave her a few pain killers for on the trip should she need them!! Poor thing...
Great sketches!

I love all your sketches but that rabbit in the upper right has a special look about him/her.....xox
Oh! I hope your daughter was able to accomplish her goals on graduation day! My root canals did not cause me any pain, but I must be an exception. I think the Novocaine and your mouth being stretched out are the biggest problems. I hope she felt fine. I love your sketches. Thank you for your comment on my blog.
I hope the speech went well after such a procedure. (I know all about the pulling if you don't have insurance.)
Nice sketches. I have missed you! :)
Wow, I've been gone awhile. By now tooth healed! Trip happened. And you have undoubtedly drawn much more! Life is so interesting!
I have to have an expensive implant tooth removed due to bone loss. Insurance paid very little for it. (Cost $2000) and insurance used up for the year so no idea what extraction will cost. I will go toothless now (wont show)! Arrgh!
I love your sketches, trying different expressions. Yep, I also (besides the root canal) had to have a crown. Much more than $2K. I have no insurance and medicare doesn't cover it at all. Blessings, Janet PPF
i love these sensitive sketches!
