He built a fire, and I haven't taken down my holiday swag and bow yet (I love those red berries!). This is in the livingroom--doesn't it look purdy?
The chair is my big secondhand score from 2012--I got it for $11.65 at the local Goodwill, got it home and realized it was a Hickory chair--retails for $2200. That's right, two-thousand two-hundred dollars. Unbelievable. Pristine condition, super comfy, and obviously well-made, for $11.65. (although I will say, who on earth would spend $2200 on a chair?!?).
When the game is over I'm heading out to the studio for a couple of hours. The girls are lying all snuggled up in Katie's bed, watching season something or other of One Tree Hill on Netflix on Katie's computer. Joel is snowboarding with his buddies--he'll be home later tonight. We'll have a nice dinner all together tonight, and then the whirlwind starts again--Katie has basketball every night, Jenny will start musical rehearsals Monday thru Thursday afternoons, plus she's playing on a basketball team that Richard's coaching with practices on Wednesdays and games every other Sunday. Whew. Makes my head spin just thinking about it!
I just ordered Lynn Cohen's new book at Blurb--you can view it at

I can't wait for it to arrive!
Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Ooo lovely! Kim
Blogger is finally letting me make comments again! What a beautiful look to the fireplace. I wouldn't be in a hurry to take it down, either. And what a deal on that chair!! Unbelievable! Enjoy! :)
Your living room looks like something out of Sunset magazine! Cozy too!
Yes, the kids stay so busy... All so talented!
Karen, so sweet of you to mention my book on your blog!
I do hope you will enjoy it. I think will. ;-)
Yes, your living room does look lovely! The mantle is so beautiful...you could leave up the berries and just change out the bow for a more wintery wreath...that way the "Christmas-y" look gets phased out more slowly.
Love the deal on the chair...amazing!
