Well, that was a much longer break than I intended, but I really buckled down and worked six hours a day up through the Apple Festival. This is a picture of my booth the first morning. I made the cute banner that says "ksmithey" on it, used drop cloths for table cloths, and displayed my jewelry on the old frames that I revamped.
I was worried about making my booth fee back ($150)--that was my goal--and I exceeded that by over a thousand dollars! So it was an awesome first show, to say the least.
I did another, more holiday-themed show a week and a half ago, where the sales were much lower. But--I did have over 100 people take my card, and I've already gotten two custom jewelry orders from that show.
Here's a picture of the booth from that show--
All in all, scary experience, but well worth it.
Now that I'm done with shows for awhile I'll be working on listing prints and paintings and jewelry in my Etsy shop. Jenny celebrates her big thirteenth birthday ("You'll have three teenagers, all at the same time, Mom") this weekend with a party for her friends on Saturday night, and then it's on to my birthday (on Thanksgiving Day) and then Christmas! I can't believe this year is almost over.
Turns out that this is actually my 999th post, so I'll post tomorrow for Paint Party Friday, comment on everyone's blog, and post a giveaway (a matted print of the bird painting, maybe?) to celebrate number 1000!

Wow! Congrats on the shows!!! That is awesome! And happy birthday to your tween and to you! :)
three teenagers at once... that is something... my sister had four teenage boys... that was freaky to watch ... especially at meal times...

congratulations, well done, happy birthday to your daughter, I had three teens at once, its a lively time!
Oh, I so identify with doing a show. I've just set up for a 6 week Holiday Arts show, my first show ever. I'm totally freaked with whether I'll get any sales... my art is so different that anything there. But we'll see. I've wanted to try it, and finally did. I'm glad yours went well. You've encouraged me.
Cheers
