While my dad was in the hospital before Christmas, I did lots of knitting and crocheting (one of those things you hope you never have to find out--what art can you do in a hospital room--)
A couple of the nurses bought some baby hats. One of them called me the other day and asked if I could crochet some cowboy boot-booties like ones she had seen online. That's a challenge, so of course I had to try. I found some patterns (which of course I then changed because that's how I am ;) and then made three before I figured out how I wanted to do them. These are the final booties, ready to be dropped off today.
I have a couple more changes I'd like to make, and actually started crocheting a SIXTH bootie, when I thought, "It's late. You're done. What are you going to do with one more bootie? Make some notes and go to bed." So I did. When the voice of wisdom speaks, I listen.

Oh Karen how cute is that!!! I could never do such tiny bitsy booties ;)
Your boots are fabulous! I am sure she will love these! My daughter loves to alter patterns and she makes tons of baby shoes. She gives them to a charity for newborns- she has done 30+ so far and no sign of stopping.
Those are adorable! And they will stay on better than regular booties, too. I also knit and crochet. It's relaxing and who doesn't need that?
Adorable and comes at a time when I am thinking of drawing my husbands big cowboy boots! ;-)
Those are frickin' adorable. Great idea. Very imaginative.
So cute!
Oh, my goodness those are adorable! They would go over huge here in Idaho!
