Spring Cleaning and Some Carpentry

I bought this cabinet at a yard sale five or six years ago. At the time I wasn't sure what I'd do with it, beyond the fact that I wanted to store paper in it. It was a strange pale green color and dusty and beat-up--but all those little shelves--so cool! When I got it home and into the garage (this was pre-studio days, when I really was 'in the garage,' it turned out that the door wouldn't shut with 12" by 12" scrapbooking paper on the shelves. I've used it in the studio with the door partially open, but this weekend, in the midst of spring cleaning/reorganizing the studio, I decided to fix it. I took the door off (no small feat, since the hinges and screws had been painted over many times), added a strip of 1" wood around the edges, reset the latch, and painted all the new parts. Now the door shuts--my dad says you can't even tell it's been altered, which I guess is a good thing.

All in all, pretty nifty for a five dollar purchase, huh?
