Had a doctor's appt this morning early early early. I left the girls sleeping (both still sick) and went down.
Blood pressure is high. (170/110) High-er, even, than the last several times I've been in, so the dr said we have to do something (translation: medication). My mom had high blood pressure, and mine has been bordering on high since I was thirteen and went in for my physical for high school sports, so I suppose it was only a matter of time. I do hate pills, though, and am hoping this is only temporary...
Also gained seven pounds (first time I've gained any weight since before I had Jenny). I'm sure it's partly because I haven't been able to walk in the mornings since I hurt my ankle. Clothes all still fit, but I don't want to gain any more, esp since it's so hard to lose weight while I'm on anti-depressants...
So, I have some work to do. More being in the moment, savoring my food, and trying to figure out how to exercise until my ankle's back to normal...
Big sigh.

Because I'm embracing adulthood (something new for me) I won't make a joke about you taking up hopscotch.
I had no idea it was still hurt. You poor thing.
Good luck! I know what you mean about pills - if there would be one thing I could immdiately change in my life right now, it would be that multi-colored handful of capsules and tablets I have to swallow every night. And I so hear you on the weight loss. I've been trying to get back down to my before Husband weight for roughly THREE years. I'm finally getting there, well, kind of. It's tough.
It took me about 25 years to come to terms with taking anti-depressants. But, the quality of life is what counts the most. When I tried to go without, the experience was horrible (and so was everyone around me).
Just be gentle with yourself and take it a day at a time. I'm glad you went to the doctor!!! High blood pressure is serious stuff.
God bless:)
Oh poor you, it never rains but it pours, but it will get better very soon, especially once your ankle is better and the girls are better too.
With you on the weight thing, however I have lost 17 pounds, and have another 16 pounds to lose... it just crept on over the years, especially when I took anti-depressants. My love affair with chocolate doesn't help ;-)
Hope you feel better and on two feet again soon. BIG HUG!
Well welcome to the big adult world. It seems to me most people need something...mine are for cholestrol, thyroid and gerd!
These are all "for the rest of my life" medications. I tried diet and exercise to lower the cholestrol and did get it down but not far enough. So pills it is.
I bet when your foot heals completely and you are up and walking again your weight will go down. Come to my 'Positive Healthy Eating and Exercise' Blog if you need some support. We are helping each other to stay on track for life there. ;-)
