Here's my offering for Illustration Friday, inspired by a poem my Dad quotes to me (tho I think the actual quote is from a different poem...)
Mr. Meant-To had a comrade, and his name was Didn't Do
Have you ever chanced to meet them?
Have they ever called on you?
These two fellows live together
In the house of Never-Win
And it's said that it is haunted
By the ghost of Might-Have-Been.

wonderful illo that conveys those thoughts well.
I like the illo and the poem very much. Good take on the topic!
So great! This is an awesome style, and powerful message. Thanks for sharing it!
EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love this...and the thought of your dad (or any dad) speaking these words to his daughter.
wonderful illo!
Wow Karen! I love this. The background really brings out the illustration of the old woman. I really enjoy your work. Have browsed your website as well and I must say that you are very talented. Thanks for the comment in my blog. I really appreciate children who show interest in Art. In fact, I'm encouraging my 3 year old son to paint! Will post his 'abstract' oil painting soon in my blog. Hope Katie will post hers soon!
Wow! Great poem and illo. The look on her face says it all.
nice work! I like it!
That is so darn sad...nicely done illustration and message.
I love this!!! I was going to say it may be your best piece but they are all REALLY good ;)
Wow! That woman looks like she's pretty haunted by Might-Have-Been, too. Great illo!
