In the Midst of a Desolate Plain

Inspired by my new book, The Cabinet of Natural Curiousities...

I've been scanning and printing and cutting for days. I have enough fodder for a lifetime of collaging.

This one brought to mind:

"In the midst of a desolate plain there stood a lonely tree..."

Oh! I LOVE this! I love the juxtaposition of the orange against the (prussian?) blue, the red tone of the earth.

I'm big on trees anyways, and this...well, this is a magnificient image. You know, it could almost be a branch of coral under the sea, too.

Lovely ambiguity.

I like this Karen. Great work!
! I have a few tree paintings in my studio...I'm just drawn to them. (No pun intended!) I too, love collaging. I find it theraputic.
By the way, you're the only one who explained how to link to a static page so I could understand it :) I did it right this time, thanks!

Have a wonderful holiday :)

How have I managed to miss your blog since almost the start? I am fascinated with collage and collage artists have become my heroes. Your work is lovely. I see you also sell on Etsy so must visit there next...
