Add a Paypal Button to Your Blog

A couple of you have asked about the Paypal button, below. It's really quite simple to add.

Sign in to your Paypal Account. Once you've signed in, you're going to choose the "Merchant Services" tab. This takes you to the page above. There are all sorts of options, including adding a "Buy Now" or an "Add To Cart" button.

In this particular case, I think it's FINDING the information--once you're there, it's a rather simple matter to get the code and place it in either your sidebar or in a post.

Any questions, let me know!

ATC's Available to Trade

I've posted a flickr slideshow in the sidebar, featuring ATC's. I will be scanning more as I make time. If you're interested in one, please let me know and we can trade info.

Katie has a tennis match this afternoon, I get my root canal finished tomorrow morning, and Friday I may go to the coast to do some winetasting with my friend Dianne (making sure, of course, to hurry back so I'm home in time to watch Joel's football game!). Sounds like a busy week...

I'm working on some new 'flying girl' paintings--had a couple of dreams lately about flying through the nightime air, want to translate that feeling onto some canvases.

Studio Time Equals Art

I get the root canal finished today--LOVE the new dentist, who, in his own words, 'does not believe in unnecessary pain'. Saw doctor two days ago, he doubled my blood pressure med.

Fell down the stairs two nights ago and twisted my good ankle! It's swollen but not too painful--I apparently cannot talk on the phone and walk down stairs at the same time...(ah, you say, but can you pat your head and rub your stomach? Not even going to try...)

Joel says, "You are such a dork, Mom."

Well, yes.

Four hours in the studio till I have to leave for dentist! Yay!

Never A Dull Moment

A few months ago, I lost an old filling and broke off the back part of the tooth. I've been avoiding going to the dentist for several years now, ever since a horrible experience getting my teeth cleaned. Friday, the broken tooth started to really hurt, badly enough that I called the dentist. I tried a new dentist on the recommendation of a friend--a dentist who used happy gas for adults and specializes in fearful patients.

They got me right in, which is, all by itself, a reason to continue going to this dentist--I was hoping he would just pull the tooth, but when he checked my blood pressure it was very high, especially considering that I'm on high blood pressure medication. He gave me a very stern lecture, and then did a root canal.

So I'm taking vicodin (only one in the past twenty four hours, though) and going back in on Tuesday to have the root canal finished.

He copied the blood pressure tape and told me to give it to my doctor when I go in first thing Monday morning (which he made me promise I'll do).

To be honest, I had no idea that high blood pressure was such a big deal. I've had 'borderline' high blood pressure since I was a freshman in high school, and only started taking medication for it a year or so ago. It was just something in the background of my life, and now I feel stupid not to have realized that high blood pressure can lead to strokes and kidney problems...

I've got some background papers I'm working on, using tissue and deli paper, and a couple of new paintings. I'm going to prep a bunch of canvases tonight or tomoorow, which will mean I have no excuses...

Back in the Groove

Okay, the kids are all fever-free and back in school.

The cat is no longer hopping around on three legs and has been (against her/his will) evicted from the studio.

I found some sinus medication in a drawer, so my blankity-blank headache is gone. Sort of.

I have actually planned the meals for the rest of the month and done my grocery shopping, and tonight's dinner, vegetable beef soup, is bubbling away on the stove as I write.

I'm out in the studio, and have glue and paint all over my fingers.

And all is right with the world.

Goodbye, Flu

Everyone's back at school today; no fevers for over twenty-four hours. I took a long nap this morning after everyone left, just to do a little catching up myself. The kids aren't little anymore, but when they're sick I don't seems to sleep much, and considering that I've been sick, too, I was tired.

Joel's football team has a scrimmage tonight. He won't play, but we'll go anyway to support the team.
